Help us save Luigi
Our mission is to find help for my daughter and her family who have an italian greyhound that was hit by a truck on Wednesday, May 9th.
"Luigi" is 2 yrs old and broke away from his lead while the family was preparing to go to their sons baseball game. Luigi's suffered massive soft-tissue (skin) injury to the right front side of his body. The skin was literally torn completely off his back/shoulder and his right front leg. We took him to the local veterinarian, and he was immediately transferred to Michigan State University for treatment. Luigi will need extensive skin grafting, requiring three separate surgeries, to repair the damage. The doctors give Luigi a 98% chance of a full recovery with the recommended treatment, but financially this is a real hardship on the family. Costs for skin grafting, not including his post-op care, will be at least $7000.00. Orthodog's Silver Lining Fund (www.OSLF.com)has stepped up and donated $2000.00 to get Luigi's treatment started, without them, the outcome would have been drastically different for our little Luigi. Iggy Planet.com members and others have generously donated a combined total of $875.00, plus we have added an additional $620.50 from other sources. MSU's "Lucky Fund" will pick up the final $2000.00 as long as we can raise the needed $1504.00 in time. We are so close to our goal, yet so far, and time is running out. Can you help us save Luigi?
